Permanent Disability Payments
Monetary compensation payable to individuals who have sustained a permanent disability, either mental or physical, that prevents them from returning to their typical line of work. A physician must certify that the injured employee’s disability is permanent.
Monetary Workers Compensation Benefits are designed to replace a portion of the injured worker’s wages or salary. These benefits are typically calculated at 2/3 of the worker’s weekly earnings payable up to a maximum rate as set forth by statute. Additional amounts are paid based on the loss of vision, amputation, and other catastrophic injuries.
Supplemental Job Displacement
Available in the form of a voucher, Supplemental Job Displacement Benefits are available for permanently injured workers to obtain job retraining. The recipient must attend a fully accredited educational institution that is approved by the State of California.
Monetary benefits that are payable to the surviving spouse, children and other dependents if the worker dies as a result of his or her work-related injuries or illness. Death benefits include burial expenses to a maximum of $10,000 and benefits payable to the surviving spouse and other dependents (three or more) are paid at a total maximum of $320,000.
